  4. I’m bringing a load of supplies down to help my parents with their house. In addition to my supplies for them I have 16 boxes of labeled clothes for men, women and children from our church clothes closet and I would like to donate it to whatever distribution center is on the island. Please feel free to contact me or point me in the right direction. Thanks so much.

  9. I can be available for any type of work needed including but not limited to clearing out debris, cleaning out homes and business, painting, general repairs, FEMA and insurance paperwork, transportation for supplies etc. Computer work, cooking, or just a kind person to talk to who can actually listen. I live in Ingelside and have my house pretty much done. Call me if you need some help. 214-212-8869.

  10. I live in Ft bend county and can make the round trip on one tank. I love port a and want to help, even if only picking trash out of the dunes

  11. We are thinking of bring a suburban full of the things listed on your site Monday September 4. We have heard that you need money more.

  12. We live in East Texas and cannot travel to Port A but we would like to send items down. Is there an address that is available to ship to? Thank you!

  13. I have a crew of about 13 people coming to volunteer this wednesday and thursday! Please call me at your earliest convenience at 210-834-8082!

  14. I came down from San Antonio and volunteered all weekend. There were some hurricane Harvey volunteer tshirts that had Port A on the front. There were only very small shirts left and I was hoping I could order one if possible? The shirts were grey and red. Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thank you

  15. I have #810 in the Aransas Princess … many memories and “things ” in that unit. I can’t get any info on damage, and since this is a “vacation” home , I hate to take anyone’s attention away from helping those who lost their MAIN home.
If there is a way to get info on the state of the eighth floor of the AP , I want to come down from Nacogdoches and check out what’s what. I am retired and able to bring help and supplies , etc . But I would feel so much better if I knew about 810 since, if it’s habitable , I could at least stay there. I own a temp service in East Texas and I can donate labor for clean up , etc , but I just need to be more informed before driving down . If you can provide any info at all it would be greatly appreciated!

  16. My daughter and I will be there tomorrow morning, Tuesday 9/5/17. We are coming down from New Braunfels.

We will be there to help in any way. What should we bring down for needed supplies: water? food? blankets?……….etc?? Let me know.

Is there a drop off point in Port A?

  17. I’m not sure if I’m leaving this in the right spot. My name is Judy Magallanez and I live in Luling where I am a teacher. I have been visiting Port Aransas each summer since I was a young girl. When Harvey went through last week, I was heart broken at the sight of the devastation. I wanted to do something. I am a single parent, not a big corporation, so I’m limited at what I can do/bring. I don’t know if you are allowing people on the island to help or drop things off but this is what God laid on my heart. I would like to begin collecting toiletries..shampoo, soap, rags, toothpaste and brushes, hair brushes, combs, deodorant, feminine products, sunscreen, mosquito spray, and anything else that may be needed. If this is ok and acceptable I would like to collect and then bring these items down the first weekend in October. You can reach me @ 512-227-1588. I hope to hear from you soon so I may begin getting with my school, church, and community. Thank you for your response and please know my family and so many others are praying for your wonderful town and it’s people. God Bless!

  18. Hello,
I am currently collecting donations for Port Aransas and also want to volunteer my time to help a local family with manual labor tasks. I have a trailer that I plan on bringing with me so that I have some place to stay at night. Do you know if the city has allotted a location for volunteers to park their trailers?
    Thank you,
    Lori

  19. We are Rv pwners and have stayed at Marina Beach the last two January. We are willing to volunteer. I can do lifting and cleaning and my wife can do clerical and cleaning. 21. I signed up as a volunteer but have heard nothing. If I can’t get someone to tell me something, I will not be coming to help. I need a response asap.

  22. I don’t live in the area and volunteering is not an option. Can I contribute to a fund set up to assist the needs of Port Arkansas citizens?

  23. I would like to come down and help, I have worked in construction all my life. What I would like to know ,if you would really have volunteer work for me to do and if I need to bring power tools or just my main tool box? Please let me know ASAP as I am ready to come as soon as you can use me.

  24. Please consider priority housing for Port A residents that are now homeless and need a place to stay on Port A while they work in Port A to rebuild their beloved community. FEMA housing is hard to find close to home. Port A residents want back on their Island. For Example Anne Carr who worked in Port A as a bartender, waitress, catering, and for a local cleaning company for hotels and rental units. Randy Carr who has to stay local since he works at CCAD supporting the military, while living and spending all his money in Port A. Let’s support the affected Port A residents with a place to live and work while they spend their time and money rebuilding their beloved Port A community. Many hands make for light work. Please make a policy to initially prioritize Port A locals who will volunteer to clean up and rebuild over vacationers who will come to be served. I know tourist bring much needed money, but homeless affected resident volunteers who can temporarily live locally (hotels, rentals, Trailer parks) will be readily available on site to rebuild Port A Until they have long term housing and Port A can once again support that tourism and rebuild its self-sustaining economy. 25. Retired navy chief petty officer and his wife are ready and able to volunteer our time to help family’s in need of cleanup help in the port aransas or rockport area!

  26. We have read that hurricane victims are in need of cleaning supplies. We are going to be in the area and would like to make a donation. Would the best place to drop them off be at 408 N Alister? We are also available on Monday 9-11 if someone is in need of help. My husband is proficient with a chain saw and I don’t mind getting my hands dirty cleaning, but we don’t want to be in the way if you already have enough volunteers. After vacationing in Port Aransas for more than 30 years it has a special place in our hearts. God bless you all.

  27. My name is Joey Stelly. I own “LawnScape By Joey” (of North Padre Island). My email address is fisherman12b@yahoo.com. I have all of tomorrow available. I am able to cut smaller branches and trees. I also have lawn equipment, including a zero turn. Do you have individuals that can use my volunteer services tomorrow?

  28. My husband and I will be bringing twin mattresses, pillows, sheet sets, off next week.

Please reply with a list of other things that may be needed…. tarps, gloves (what kind), batteries, flashlights, plastic bags? Those are a few things that i thought may be of use.

  29. Will be in Corpus Christi for the day on Saturday. I only have a few hours to be in PortAransa but would like to know if there is anything we could do in that short time. Bring water? Meals? Please advise.

  30. Would like to come down and volunteer in the clean up efforts. My friend and I can be down there Oct 2 – 5th. Please send me contact #s of people heading up volunteer efforts.

Also are there places to stay for people coming to lend a hand. Is there a place to camp for volunteers.

What donated items are needed when I come? Toiletry, cleaning supplies, etc.

  31. Hi! We are with Family&Friends of Steel out of Jewett, TX. We have funding for food, skid steers, donation items, etc. but we are having a hard time finding a place that needs us next weekend Sept 29-Oct 2nd. Does anyone have a contact for an organization that needs our help? We will have between 10-15 volunteers and are ready to work!
